Greg Newkirk and Dana Matthews' Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult

The world’s first mobile museum of the unexplained, the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult, is the only place where curious guests can hold real haunted objects, meet the occult experts who’ve spent their lives collecting supernaturally-influenced artifacts and researching the unexplained, and even help further the field of paranormal research by investigating the mysterious pieces themselves.

When you’ve been chasing down tales of the strange and unexplained for as long as Greg Newkirk and Dana Matthews have, you’re bound to pick up a few bizarre odds and ends along the way, things like a haunted painting with a bad habit of flinging itself from walls, a mysterious scrying mirror that reflects terrible visions, and even wood planks from the infamous Amityville Horror house, to name a few.

Rather than hoard the paranormal paraphernalia behind a dusty glass case at Weird HQ, Greg and Dana established Planet Weird’s Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult, a roving display of the most fascinating artifacts collected during their supernatural adventures. Unlike many paranormal displays, Planet Weird encourages guests to photograph, hold, and even test each piece for themselves. Bring your EMF meter or borrow one of ours.

Since 2014, Greg and Dana’s traveling museum of the weird has been fascinating, scaring, and grossing-out guests at some of the country’s most popular conventions and private events like Strange EscapesScareFest, and Ghost Adventures‘ Nick Groff’s cross-country tour.

Wow, you guys have way more stuff since I saw you at Scarefest. Please tell me you’re coming back this year!

    • Greg Newkirk January 18, 2016 at 2:03 am

We’d love to come back to ScareFest! They completely changed their management and event staff since we last presented there, so it wouldn’t hurt to drop them a line and let them know you’d like to see us there. In the end, it’s up to them, but we always have a blast when we’re invited!

    Is this only in America

    • Greg Newkirk January 18, 2016 at 2:04 am

We’ll bring the museum wherever we’re invited! We’re currently working out some plans to bring the museum to Canada, and we’ve had a few inquiries from the UK. Stay tuned!

There’s a guy on reddit who found a weird statue in the woods and believes it might be cursed. Your name keeps coming up in the comments section. He could probably use your help:

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been in touch with the guy over the last week and have acquired the object. We’re still deciding if it’s one that should actually go on display. If so, it might be our first “no-touching” piece. It’s a pretty nasty bit of black magic.

Spent about an hour talking to you guys at the Nick Groff event at Pennhurst a few months ago. Of all the events I’ve been to (lots) you guys have the most well-run, engaging, and fun display I’ve ever seen. I could have talked to you two about your collection for hours. Hope to see you at another Nick Groff event this year!

    • Greg Newkirk January 18, 2016 at 2:09 am

Thanks, Liza! The Nick Groff Tour events are lots of fun. Make sure you let them know you’d like to see us at one of their stops in 2016!

Made the unfortunate decision to look into the dark mirror in Pittsburgh and I didn’t sleep right for a week. I just kept seeing my dead face. Still can’t wait until you guys come back though!

LOVED THE MUSEUM! The voodoo nail really really really creeped out my wife. Any plans to come back to PA? Hope so!

    • Greg Newkirk January 18, 2016 at 2:11 am

We’re working on some Pennsylvania dates right now! Very good chance we’ll be back in Pittsburgh later this year!

I don’t know if you remember me or not but I held the piece of the Amityville Horror house when you guys brought the museum to Missouri State Penn. It was the freakiest thing like my whole body was humming! I hope you guys will be back this year because I really want to see your new stuff like the mirror. You’re better than a Ripley’s Museum!
